Daily Scriptures & Prayers

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY!
Jul 4, 2010

Lord, we bow before you this morning, giving thanks for the blessings you have given us in America.  We thank you for the ones who came before us seeking out this new land in order that they might live free to worship you.  Lord, we thank you for the importance they placed on belief in you, so much so it permeates everything our founding fathers set into motion ~ our way of governing, the laws they enacted, the songs they sung, the buildings they built, the meaning of our flag that they crafted and our Constitution.  Father, as we celebrate this day let us do so in thankfulness to you that you are still God, you are still in control and you still act on behalf of the prayers of your children.  Father, let our days no longer be business as usual but Lord let us walk from this day forward with a new spirit and new resolve to stand up for our Christian values and no longer be silent when those who do not believe in you want to take them away.  Lord, your word tells us if we don't work, we don't eat.  Father how true that is for our rights as well, if we don't fight to keep them, we will not be able to eat from the table of freedom they provide.  Lord, get us in your word, wake us up and get us in the battle.  Thank you Father for our nation, long may she stand for you and be your light of liberty to all the world.  Father, thank you for being our Lord, our Guide, our Counselor, our Friend and our Savior.   God, bless America!

I offer the following prayer for our country on this Independce Day, July 4, 2010.  It is taken from a speach President Ronald Reagan gave to the American people on February 6, 1986.
"To preserve our blessed land we must look to God...It is time to realize that we need God more than he needs us...
Let us, young and old, join together, as did the First Continental Congress, in the first step, in humble heartfelt prayer.  Let us do so for the love of God and His great goodness, in search of His guidance and the grace of repentence, in seeking His blessings, His peace and the resting of His kind and holy hands on ourselves, our nation, our friends in defense of freedom and all mankind, now and always.
The time has come to turn to God and reassert our trust in Him for the healing of America...Our county is in need of and ready for a spiritual renewal.  Today, we utter no prayer more fervently than the ancient prayer of peace on Earth.
The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious unto you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace...God bless you all."

Day 40, July 3, 2010
Isaiah 55:6
"Seek the Lord while He may be found, Call upon HIm while He is near."
Father, thank you for being near and telling us to call to you.  Lord, these last 40 days we have called to you to revive us, your people, the Christians of this nation and to heal our land.  Father, according to your word, we thank you in advance for what you will do for us, what you have already done for us and what you are will do for our nation.  Father, according to your word we believe that you have heard our cry, our prayer of confession and our petitions and you will act according to your will to bring about Godly change in our land.  Thank you.  Lord, let us not stop with this 40 days but Lord let us carry on to pray for our leaders, our military and our country.  Let our hearts not become weary or our minds faint but Lord let us go forth renewed in your word and in your spirit with our heads and hands no long limp at our side but held up to you with praise and glory for your goodness.  Lord, let us shake off the dust of this world from our feet and bodies and no longer walk on their paths.  Let us take up your word and seek you, looking only to you for our needs and for our help.  Thank you Father, for allowing us to live in this nation that we call America.  Lord, we ask your protection on her from all enemies, those who are on foreign soil and those who are right here in our midst.  Build her up and let her stand for your glory.

Day 39, July 2, 2010
Ephesians 4: 14,  22-24
"that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness by which they lie in wait to deceive, ..that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in righteousness and true holiness."
Father, thank you that you have made us new in your righteousness.  Lord, grow us up in your word and in your spirit.  Father we have walked in the ways of the world and have the smell of Egypt on us. Lord, forgive us for going places we should not go as Christians.  Father, get us in your word and let your word get in us that our minds will be renewed and we will take on your image. Lord, as a nation we have followed after the gods of this world while we, the Christians of this nation have sat on our hands.  Lord, wake us up, get us out of the slumber that we have been lulled in to.  Breathe fresh life into us that we would no longer sit idly by while those in authority make laws that are contrary to your word. Let us stand up, speak up and not back down.  Father, help us to understand WE ARE IN A BATTLE!  Lord we cry to you as our day of independence is upon us that you would hear our prayer, get us out of spiritual bed and heal our minds and our land.  Father, let us not play church any longer but to be united in your spirit, in one accord to withstand the evil that has come to our nation. Father, we ask this in the name of Jesus, our savior.

Day 38, July 1, 2010
Joshua 1:9
"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”
Father, in these days when the world seems out of control and there's a crisis around every turn we thank you for reminding us that you are with us wherever we go.  Father, thank you for your words that give us encouragement and strength.  Lord, let us have the courage to be strong and stand up for our Christian beliefs and values. Father, let our hearts be directed toward you and let us first seek you, then stand up and speak up and not back up! Father, our country is headed in a direction that will lead to its end.  Our leaders and members of Congress are making decisions for us, decisions that the majority of American citizens do not want, that are contray to what our nation was founded upon.  Lord, we cry out to you to turn this nation around, starting with us as individuals.  Lord, we are not discouraged, we are not dismayed for we know you have everything under your control.  Lord, let us never quit, let us never compromise but let us stand with our shields of faith in Jesus Christ firmly held, the shoes of peace firmly tied to our feet, the breastplate of righteousness cemented to our chests, the helmet of salvation strapped on our heads, surround ourselves with truth and the sword of your spirit sharpened and ready.  Lord, when we've done all to stand, let us stand boldly in your strength.  For it is in the precious name of Jesus we ask it, Amen.

Day 37, June 30, 2010
John 6: 66~68
"From that time many of his discples went back and walked with HIm no more.  Then Jesus said to the twelve, "Do you also want to go away?" Then Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life."
Lord, thank you for allowing us to walk with you, to learn of you, to listen to you, to bring our concerns to you and to know you.  Father, set our feet on the path you have laid out for us and keep us there.  We are so prone to wonder.  Keep the heart of our nation focused on you and values firmly rooted in you.  Let us not walk away when trials come but let us run to you for shelter.  Thank you Father, for your words that bring eternal life, peace and comfort. Write them on the tablet of the heart of our nation and let us hold them close.

Day 36, June 29, 2010
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, pray without ceasing in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."
Lord, we come to you today rejoicing that we live in a country where we have freedom to call on your name. Lord, we thank you for raising up this country to stand for you.  We lift our country up to you asking mercy and forgiveness for the sins of its people. We ask that you restore the glory of your presence in her and through her. Lord we ask that we put on and keep on your armor and stand boldly for you against any evil. Lord, let not evil prevail over us or over take us.  Let us grap hold of you and stand boldly in your strength and in your might.  Lord, we thank you in advance for what you are about to do in us and through us. Father, all this we ask in your name.

Day 35, June 28, 2010
Psalm 118: 29
"Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever."
Lord, we are so thankful that you are a good God. We thank you for your goodness to us.  Lord help us to remember that just because a storm rages in our lives or in our country ~ you are still good and you will see us through.  We thank you for your love that you freely pour out on us.  Lord, help us to soak it up that we may be more like you and pour your love and goodness onto others.  Thank you Father for all you are going to do in our lives and in our nation.

Day 34, June 27, 2010
1 Chronicles 16:8
"Give thanks to the Lord, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done."
Lord, we give thanks to you for all that you have done for us.  Lord we thank you for our freedoms, for the ability you have given to us to work and make a living for our families.  Lord we thank you for the rights and privildiges you have set in motion in this country down through the years.  We thank you for all those who have served this nation, for those who founded it and those who still serve it today.  We thank you for our nations history of being a God fearing nation, a nation that from its founding fathers have said  ~ we will seek the Lord for guidance for the furtherance of our nation.  We thank you for the natural resources you have given us, help us to use them wisely.  We thank you for the natural beauty you have created for our enjoyment. We thank you for your love, your mercy and your son who died for us to set us free.  Let us always be a nation that sings your praises and spreads your word to the world.
Lord, we call to you to bring to pass the healing of our land.  We lift up to you the oil spill off our gulf shores.  Give wisdom to those working on this disaster so they will be able to fix the problem quickly. Lord, this did not take you by surprise, you knew of it long before they ever set the oil rig in place and began to drill.  And you know what it will take to correct the problem.  Lord, we ask for your mercy.  Let it be repaired quickly so the disaster to the waters, the wildlife, our natural shorelines and the livelihood  of the people in that area will not continue.  Lord, we give you thanks that you are able to take this disaster and turn it for our good and your glory.  Amen.

Day 33, June 26, 2010
Matthew 6:33
"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
Father we thank you for your promise of supplying our need ~ no matter what that need may be.  But Lord, you tell us to seek first your kingdom and your righteousness, to put you first, to make you the priority of our lives and  to keep on seeking and putting you first ~ to continue to seek you and not let it be just a one time ordeal.  If we do that you will supply all that we might need. Lord, help us as Christians, those who are called by your name, to do just that. Lord, you know what we need as humans, as Christians and as Americans. Place it on the heart of every Christian in our land to make you the priority of our lives and to keep making you the priority of our lives.  If we will do that then you will give us what we need in America.  Father, we need our our hearts healed and our land healed.  Father, thank you for the faithfulness to your word ~ you said it and you will do it.

Day 32, June 25, 2010
Deuteronomy 16:18
"You shall appoint judges and officers in all your gates, which the Lord your God gives you, acording to your tiribes, and they shall judge the people with just judgment."
Father, thank you for the wisdom you give freely to us for the asking.  Lord, give our judges wisdom to make just decisions for the cases the reside over.  Give our lawmakers wisdom to make laws that punish the offenders and protects the innocent.  Give our city and town managers throughout this nation wisdom to know how to manage the issues that face them.  Strengthen and enlighten them.  Give them good employees that are not afraid to roll up their sleeves and do a good days work for a days wages.  Give our leaders and all those in authority wisdom to lead this nation in a godly fashion, keeping true to the Christian values this nation was founded upon. Give them the wisdom to know that without you at the center of our hearts and at the head of our nation we will be as dust that is blown away with a puff of wind and never to be gathered again. Thank you Father for your goodness, faithfulness and mercy when we were not faithful.  Thank you for wisdom that you will send and for the healing you will bring.

Day 31, June 24, 2010
James 1:5
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him as of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."
Lord, your word tells us that we have not because we ask not.  Father, give us wisdom so we will know how to live our lives in the peace that passes understanding.  Give us wisdom to govern our lives in our daily living and dealing with others.  Give us wisdom to know the difference between what is good and your best.  Give us wisdom and remind us that there is a difference between knowledge and wisdom.  Give us the wisdom that can only come from the truth of your Word.  Give our leaders wisdom to lead this nation in a manner befitting the Office of The President of the United States, The Vice-President, all cabinet members and the Congress.  Give them wisdom to make decisions that are true and just and benefit the American people and not to serve their own agendas.  Give them the wisdom to realize that they are placed in those positons by the people and they are there to serve the people ~ not themselves.  Give them wisdom to realize that they are there not to build careers but to build this country, to set forth rule for its progress, to defend it against those who would rewrite our Constitution for their greed and gain, to enforce laws that protect its citizens and not those who would terriorize us and to ensure that this country will  endure for generations to come.  Give us wisdom Lord. Amen

Day 30, June 23, 2010
1 Kings 17:24
"Now by this I know that you are a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in your mouth is true."
Father, let the world know by our speach and our actions that we are a Christian nation.  Give the President and his cabinet words that are sweet and truthful.  If they purpose in their heart to speak evil and do evil against anyone, another nation or our own nation, then, Father I ask you to deal with them according to their own  thoughts, actions and words.  Father, only you can touch a mans heart and make his plans honorable in your sight.  Keep your hand on those who govern our nation, let their ways be honorable, their speach be true, their thoughts be honest, and their plans for our nation be good for the welfare of our citizens and the betterment of our country.  Father, do this not only for those who are in pertinent positions but also for ourselves so others will see and know YOU ARE GOD!

Day 29, June 22, 2010
Isaiah 59:1
"BEHOLD, the Lord's hand is not so short that it cannot save; Neither is His ear so dull that it cannot hear."
Father, we thank you and praise you that you are a God that not only can hear but also one who acts on our behalf.  We praise you for you are worthy and you are just. Lord, we have faith in you that our prayers for the healing of our hearts and our nation will be answered in your time and in your way.  Lord, forgive the unbelief we may hold in our hearts.  As our forefathers petitioned you for endurance and guidance in a times of darkness we come to you now.  Lord, without your guidane ourselves and our leaders will follow after what is good in our own eyes, and have done so.  Speak your words of wisdom and turth into our hearts and minds and those of our leader so they will know they stand in darkness.  Bring us into your glorious light.  Amen

Day 28 June 21, 2010
1 Peter 2:16
"Act as free men, and do not use your fredom as a covering for evil, but use it as bondslaves of God."
Father, we ask forgiveness for the freedoms we have taken for granted and how we have abused them.  You have blessed us beyond measure and we have not been a thankful nation. Forgive us.  Thank you for being a God who does forgive our sins.  Lord, let us never forget the price thousands of men and women have paid during the history of this nation in order that we might live free. Let every man, woman and child know that freedom comes at a high price.  Thank you Father for the freedom we have in you and the high price you paid for our freedom.  Never let us take our freedoms lightly or forget the price that had to be paid.  Let us not only live as free men but act as thankful free men.  Amen.

Day 27, June 20, 2010
Deuteronomy 34:7
"Moses was one hundred and twenty years old when he died.  His eyes were not dim nor his natural vigor abated."
Lord, thank you for the opportunities you have given us to serve you. Father,as Moses was so let the eyes of this country be bright with your glory for all to see and know that there is a God in this land and he is God.  Lord, strenghten or spirits, renew our minds and let us stand strong for you.  Let us not fail or falture in your service.  Give us courage, give us determination to never quit just because the storm rages.  Let us dig our faith deep in the turths of your word that we may endure any storm, overcome any fear and stand unflenching in the face of the oppressor.  This we ask in your Mighty Name.  Amen

Day 26, June 19, 2010
Jeremiah 32:27
"Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh.  Is there anything too hard for Me?
Father, how wonderful it is to know that you are the creator and you are in control of your creation.  So often we see things as being out of control but you haven't let one thing escape your attention.  You see all, you know all, you are the God of all, there is no other. We continue to ask you to turn us around, turn this country around, turn our leaders around that we might seek you first in all we do.  Father we thank you, knowing this is a simple thing for you to do, but Lord you must have willing hearts.  Whatever the cost, bring us back to you and heal our land. Amen

Day 25, June 18, 2010
Psalm 4:6
"...Lord lift up your countenance upon us."
Father, thank you for being faithful to us when we were not faithful to you and showing us the way when we have gotten lost.  Lord, I ask you to once again  shine your glory on the path we should walk for my nation has lost its way.  Shine your light into our hearts and souls, revive the spirit within us and direct our footsteps. Lighten the way so we will no longer falter.  Amen

Day 24, June 17, 2010
James 3:17
"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy."
Lord, this is the kind of wisdom we desire for ourselves and our nation, wisdom that is from you.  In and of ourselves we have no godly wisdom.  We can gain knowledge and worldly wisdom but that only leads down a path of destruction.  Help us to be this kind of Christian and country, people who live  pure and  peaceable lives ~ not meddling and nosey but not letting other countries meddle in our affairs.  Let us be gentle and humble with others, willing to be the first to give an apology but strong enough to stand firm in our convictions.  Let us treat all people the way we want to be treated, be it our next door neighbor or our neighbor on the other side of the world. Amen

Day 23, June 16, 2010
Hebrews 13:18
"Pray for us; for we are confident that we have a good conscience, in all things desiring to live honorably."
Lord, let us live lives that are pure before you so we will have a conscience that does not prick our hearts of things done wrong.  Let us live honorable lives as citizens of our nation and citizens of a home to come.  Let our actions be honorable and our speach be sweet.  Let us live out our days in a manner that is acceptable in your sight.  Let our nation be honest and honorable in our dealing with other countries.  Give our leaders wisdom to deal with other heads of state in a manner that honors you and our nation.  Remove anyone who may be dishonest from our government and replace them with those who are not afraid to take a stand for you and what is right.  Amen

Day 22: June 15 2010
Luke 12:48
"From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded: and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked."
Lord, thank you for all you have  done to bless myself and my country.  You have blessed us with much. We have freedom to work and live where we choose.  We have the freedom to express ourselves in spoken word or written word as long they do not infringe on the freedom of others.  We have the freedom to travel about in our country and in the world.  We have the freedom to elect people into positions who lead this county and make laws for us to follow.   You have given us the liberty and freedom to purchase a Bible and read it whenever we so choose.  And Lord, you have given us the freedom to worship you. You have entrusted us with your Word.  How blessed we are.  Father, you have given us much and you expect much from us.  Lord, let us dust off your Word that we have placed on the shelf and open its pages.  For it is from you we get life, and the wisdom of how to live our lives.  Let your Word be so fresh and sweet on our lips that it seeps into the lives of those around us.  Let them be touched by you and be blessed.  Let the nations of the world benefit from the blessings you have given to us .  Let America be a symbol of your love and your goodness.  Let us recognize the responsibility you have so entrusted to us.  Forgive us Lord for we have laid down our armor, opened ourselves up to the enemies attack and have left the battlefield.  Wake us up to pick up your armor and to get in the battle and fight the good fight.  We thank you in advance for the victory you will bring.  In His precious name we ask it.  Amen.

Day 21,  June 14, 2010
Matthew 5:16
"Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."
Father, we carry in us the light of the world and the hope of the world.  We strive to "make" our light shine when all we have to do is rest in you and allow your light to shine ~ and it will shine.  Help us to be still so the light of your spirit will shine forth in this dark world.  The world needs to see your glory, our nation needs to see it.  Illuminate our hearts and minds with your love and truths.  Let us not hold on to it but let it flow through us and spill out onto others.  Touch the hearts of the people in our nation and let them grab hold of your love.  Let them taste and know that you are good.  Amen

Day 20, June 13, 2010
Psalm 33:12
"Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord."
Father, thank you for your promise of blessing.  You have poured out your blessings upon this nation because we called you our God.  Our country was founded upon faith and belief in you.  You were our God.  However, in the blessings that you so freely gave we have come to desire them more than we desire you. Let us as Christians be the first to put away the false gods of materialsim and once again let us desire to know you, our God more than want a blessing.  Let the hearts of this nation call you our God.

Day 19 ~ June 12, 2010
Proverbs 4: 26
"Ponder the path of your feet, and let all your ways be established."
Father, help us to think about what we do.  Help us to remember we are ambassadors for you.  Do not let us run in any direction we choose but let us purpose in our hearts the steps we take and let them be firm on the path you have laid for us.  Bless the leaders of our country and let their hearts, minds and footsteps find the path of righteousness for the country they represent.  Amen

Day 18 ~ June 11, 2010
Pslam 34:18
"The LORD is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit."
Lord, squeeze or heart and let us understand the impact of our sins.  Let us be genuine in our confessions and not just go thru the motion of confession without the emotion of confession.  Thank you for being faithful, forgiving and staying close to us.

Day 17 ~ June 10, 2010
Psalm 40: 1~3
I waited patiently for the LORD; and He inclined to me, and heard my cry. He brought me up out of the pit of destruction, out of the miry clay; and He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm. And He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear, and will trust in the LORD.
Father, We spill out our confessions and concerns to you.  Help us to wait patiently for your answer.  Still our anxious hearts with assurance that you hear our prayers and will answer. Thank you for your promise of pulling us out of the pit of destruction where the muck and mire of sin cling to us and weigh us down.  Thank you for setting us firmly upon your rock of assurance and planting our feet so our footsteps will be profitable for your glory.  Let us sing your praise with a fresh spirit and determination so others will hear, and see and trust in you as their Lord.  Amen.

Day 16 ~ June 9, 2010
Proverbs 3:5,6
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your paths."
Lord, it's so easy to want to figure things out on our own and try to do what we can to force change.  But Lord you tell us to trust you and stop attempting to go it alone.  We commit our country to you this morning and trust you to bring the change in the hearts of Christians in this land.  Father we commit our leaders to you this morning.  Place godly men and women around the President.  Give him wisdom to represent our nation, a nation founded on Christian values, in a manner fitting of that office.  We acknowledge you as our Lord, our Saviour and the God of our country.  Open our eyes that we might see the path you have set for us.  Let us not become complacent as we wait on you.  Help us to realize that being still does not mean doing nothing. Let us continue to do good while we wait for your direction and when you give it let us move forward swiftly and with the confidence that God, The Great I Am, stands with us ~ who can stand against us.  We give you all honor and glory for all that you are doing and are going to do thru us and in our country.  In the might name of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Amen

Day 15 ~ June 8 2010
Isaiah 30:15
"For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, In repentance and rest you shall be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength."
Lord, this is a noisy world.  The voices of it constantly call to us, pawing at us to look in its direction, telling us that it has what we desire and need.  Lord, forgive us for listening to its call and looking away from you in the direction of the world.  Quiet our heart and minds.  Help us to learn how to abide in you and not leave to follow after the things of the world.  Let our trust be only in you.  Strengthen us, open our eyes and lift up our weary heads to see our salvation and let us rest in your shadow.  Amen

Day 14 ~ June 7, 2010
Galatians 5:1
"Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage."
Father, we thank you for giving us freedom as a nation and setting us free from our bondage of sin.   Let us see those things that bind us for what they really are ~ sin and let us turn from them.  Why would we want to return to a situation of oppression.  Let us not get comfortable in that sin but prick our heart with your love until we must leave it behind.  Help us to stand still and abide in all the privileges  you have given us as free men and women and as a nation.   Amen.

 “D-Day” 6 June, 1944
Day 13 ~ June 6, 2010
Psalm 67:4
”May the nations be glad and sing for joy, for you rule the peoples justly and guide the nations of the earth.”
Father we humbly come to you today to thank you and sing for joy for your hand of guidance in our nation. We thank you for the dedication of our brave men and women who served this country on this day 66 years ago. Thank you for these men and women who risked all and gave all in order that we might live free. Thank you for their courage and dedication to their fellow citizens and to those who were living under the iron fist of tyranny. Thank you for guiding the commanders and the troops on the battlefield who carried out their orders and secured victory. Lord, we continue to ask your guidance and blessings on the commanders and troops today as they continue to serve unselfishly to keep the world free from those who would crush the freedom we hold dear. Let us be a nation that will always be quick to defend those who can not defend themselves, give strength to those who are weak and always give a generous hand to those in need. Lord we thank you for your blessings on this nation and ask that you continue to bless us as we look to you for our guidance. Amen.

 Day 12 ~ June 5, 2010
Deuteronomy 8: 11
“ Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today.”
Father, you have been so loving and gracious to our nation throughout our history and we thank you. In all your goodness toward us Lord, we have become complacent and forgetful. Forgive us. Open our eyes once again to look and know where the strength of our nation comes from. It doesn’t come from our innovations, our ability to produce, our technologies or our military might. Our strength and prosperity comes only from you Lord and not of ourselves. Keep our eyes fixed on you least we forget and turn away. Amen

Day 11 ~ June 4, 2010
Psalm 51:10
“Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.”
Lord, the restoration of a nation must start with me as a individual, for you have commanded it to be so. Search me, reveal to me all that is not right in my heart that I may confess it to you. Reveal all that is hidden, for it is not hidden from you and set in me an unmovable spirit.  Amen.

Day 10 ~ June 3, 2010
1 Samuel 15:22
" And Samuel said, Has the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of  the LORD?  Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to heed than the fat of rams."
Lord, what great delight you take in us when we obey.  Set the feet of this nation on your paths.  Let us not run ahead of you for we will walk on a path we create.  Let us not fall behind you for we will lose our way.  Let us walk beside you, open our ears to hear your instructions and let us be quick to obey.  Thank you Father for the mercy you have poured out on this nation.  Let us move forward in your strength and not our own.  Amen.

Day 9 ~ June 2, 2010
Lamentations 3:40
"Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the LORD."
Father, let us not be deceived by any false sense of spirituality but let us know our feet walk the path you have for us.  If we falter, pick us up.  If we stray, lead us back.  If we fail, restore us.  Keep your hand of protection upon this nation, return us to yourself.  Amen

Day 8 ~ June 1, 2010
Isaiah 64:4
“For since the beginning of the world men have not heard nor perceived by the ear, Nor has the eye seen any God besides You, Who acts for the one who waits for Him.”
Father, we have come to you confessing our sins and asking forgiveness and believe you have heard and have forgiven us. We pour out our concerns to you for our country. Lord our land needs healing and we need healing. There is no God besides you. We firmly believe you will act on our behalf, moving heaven and earth to work your will in our lives and in our nation. Let us patiently wait with our eyes fixed on you, expecting to see you act. We thank you now for all you will do.

Day 7 ~ May 31, 2010
John 15:13
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down his life for his friends.”
Father, we humbly bow before you and give thanks for the sacrifices that our countrymen have made down through history in order for us to live free. Let us never forget their courage, love for their country and dedication to preserve a nation that ensured our freedom and liberties would be passed down to generations to follow. Father, the very freedoms that we enjoy and hold dear are being taken from us by the very government that is meant to serve the people of this nation. They have turned their eyes from following you and the laws set in place to govern our nation ~ The Constitution of the United States. They no longer listen to us, the people of this country. They listen to strange voices, follow after them and do according to their own wishes and desires.

Lord, let them not stand on the shoulders of the godly men and women who sacrificed their lives to build a country and keep it free, a country that you designed Father. Let them not make a mockery of their sacrifices and efforts. Father, I know they are not out of your reach. Touch their hearts, let them turn from the path of destruction they are taking our country. Lord, only you know if they will repent and turn from their sins. If they refuse to do so and continue to walk in the path of the ungodly then Father I ask that you remove them. Set in their place godly men and women who will first honor you and guide this country to once again follow after you.

Lord, protect and preserve this nation. Protect us from those who would declare this nation as anything other than a Christian nation. Let the evil that is devised against this nation be returned to the ones who perpetrate it. Let them not escape. Father it is not anything we have done that has set us up as a great nation. It is only because of the love and mercy and plans you have declared for America, not of us. Keep your hand of protection on those men and women, on our home front and around the world, who serve this country in efforts to keep us free.

Lord, we thank you for your love and mercy. We thank you for America, the land we call home. Forgive us for the sins we have committed against you. Move in our country and awaken our hearts, let us sleep no longer. Let the redeemed of this country stand up and proclaim it. All this we ask as children of the most high God and in His mighty name. Amen

Day 6 ~ May 30, 2010
Matthew 28:19-20
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen.
Lord let us always be a nation that is quick to spread your word to the world. You have commanded us to “go” and let us do so standing strong in your strength. Fill us with a fresh breath of your Spirit and a renewed resolve in our souls. May we always be a nation that follows after you, telling others along the way of your love and your mercy. Be with our nation, guide her with the light of your glory until time is no more. Amen.

Day 5 ~ May 29, 2010
Jeremiah 29:11-13
For I know the thoughts I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil; to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.
Father, thank you for loving us so much that you have numbered our days and laid out a plan for all of them, a plan that will be for our good and your glory. Lord, our nation has strayed from your path and gone after other Gods. Forgive us. Set our feet back on your paths of righteousness. Guide the hearts and minds of leaders to make moral decisions for us. Let us lay aside all that would cause us to turn away from you and let us be a nation that calls you and only you Our God.

Day 4 ~ May 28, 2010
Deuteronomy 28: 1-3
"Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth.  And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God: Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the country."
Lord, let us be quick to obey your calling.  Restore to us a nation that diligently seeks after you.  Set us as a beacon of your light to the world.  Let our compassion flow from the mercies with which you have blessed us so others will know of you and be blessed.  Quicken our hearts to hunger for you and keep us free from the bondage the world would place on us.   Amen

Day 3 ~ May 27, 2010
Philippians 4:6,7
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Lord, these are anxious times in our nation's history.  At every turn there seems to be things to despair about.  Lord, calm or anxious hearts as we bring to you our concerns over our country. You have said you will guard our hearts and minds and give us peace.  Settle us Lord as we continue to seek your guidance in such a time as this.  We thank you in advance for all you will do.  Amen

Day 2 ~ May 26, 2010
Jeremiah 33:3
"Call to Me and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."
Lord, we humbly call to you for the healing our land. Our faith is in you and you alone.  According to your word, we believe that you will answer in your way and in your time.  Let your spirit move over this nation and revive the hearts and minds of a people.  We wait upon you Lord, with great expectation, of the great and mighty things you will do in our country.  We thank you in advance.
Amen

Day 1 ~ May 25, 2010
2 Chronicles 7:14
"If my people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
How good our God is to desire to have mercy on us as individuals and as a nation. There are some things God says he will do regardless of what we do ~ that's his sovereignty and his love for us. But there are times when he tells us "If". These are times of "conditional" promise. We can trust him to do what he says he will do But it is up to us to do our part before he will act.

In this scripture we can almost hear our Lord begging us as a nation and individuals to comply to what he asks to do, crying out to us and saying ~ "IF". When we face situations like this we have to make a choice ~ do we obey God and do what he begs us to do or do we continue down the slippery path we are on? God wants us to choose his way but he isn't going to force his will on us, he leaves the decision up to us. Our nation stands at this cross road today and God is beckoning us to repent and turn to him with this little word ~ IF.

Father,

We thank you and praise you that you call us your people. We humbly come before you now, as your people and as a nation asking you to forgive us of our sins as individuals and a country. It is you Lord we have sinned against. We have allowed what your word calls right and true and just to be called wrong. We have allowed our unborn children to be killed and have passed it off as freedom to choose. We have allowed sexual sin to demoralize our country and have called it socially acceptable. We have not upheld the elderly as your word calls us to do. We have dismissed and rejected our children because it was inconvenient for us to raise them. We allow our children to be sexually exploited and call it freedom of expression. We have removed your Commandments from our halls of justice and have said they restrict us. We gluten ourselves with materialism, things which do not add one ounce of freedom to our souls. We have rejected you and freely voted for someone to be head of us who lends his support to things that go against your Word.  Someone who does not support one day a year for all who will to humbly gather and come to you and pray for our nation.

Father forgive us of our sins for they are many. Let your spirit sweep through this land and revive the hearts of those who call on your name. Give use wisdom and strength to stand against evil, let us not compromise. Turn our hearts and the gaze of our souls upon you. You Lord are our help, our salvation, our mighty fortress and our strength. Search our hearts. Let us not escape the cleansing that can only come with repentence and turning to you. Search us, cleanse us until our nation boldly claims you as our God and our land is healed.

Amen.
